Everyone loves a nice green lawn, but the problem is that keeping grass green and well maintained is hard to do with your busy life. We get that. Lawn maintenance is a lot of work and, because of this, we can offer you a beautiful alternative. Artificial turf always stays green, never needs to be cut and doesn’t need to be watered or cared for hardly at all. If you are in the market for new landscape design and think turf might be what you want, let us install it for you!
Short, Long and Colored Turf
Artificial turf comes in a plethora of different styles and colors. The turf you end up choosing is based solely on what you think will look the best for your property. We can install turf that is very short, always giving the appearance that your yard is meticulously taken care of. We can install a longer turf, which gives the illusion that you have healthy grass growing. We can also give you any shade of green that you desire; ranging from a soft, more minty green to a deeper, full bodied jungle green.
Artificial turf is generally made from fibers of nylon or polypropylene that are manufactured to resemble different types of grass blade. These fibers are connected to a backing, mesh like system, which holds them in place. Between the blade of turf and the backing, a stabilizing material is added. This material is usually made from old, discarded tires. The tires are shaved and grinder down to make rubber beads, which are spread out over the turf. This helps to give shock absorbance to your turf and also helps your artificial turf to more closely resemble actual, live grass.
Applications for Turf
The application for artificial turf are endless. Turf is used in everything from major baseball stadiums to airports to residential properties. We mostly deal with residential and commercial landscaping, but we never say no to a project. Artificial turf is starting to be used in these types of places because it is a low cost, low maintenance alternative to real grass. Because turf doesn’t need to be cared for in the same way that grass does, this eliminates costly man power required to cut, water and sod grass. And, should turf ever begin to wear out, it is easily replaceable.
Artificial turf also has some great environmental benefits. Because turf doesn’t need to water regularly, this helps to conserve water. A huge thing with actual grass lawns is that they are almost always overwatered. This process leads to diminishing water supply, high utility bills and can cause ground issues, from soil being constantly too saturated. Turf helps to minimize water usage, reduces utility costs and bills and doesn’t hurt the underlying soil at all. Turf also dissuades animals and pests from combing on to your property, as there is no actual material for these critters to eat. For these reasons, turf is an excellent option.
